About Us
The Society for the Promotion of S&T Studies is a registered society in Delhi (Registration No. S/28440 of 1995 dated 26th September 1995)
Aims & Objectives
i) The primary objective of the Society
is to promote research in the broad field of science technology and society
(STS) studies in the developing countries of Asia, Latin Americas and Africa
through the publication of an academic journal under the title “Science,
Technology and Society (an international journal devoted to the developing world)”
ii) To promote research studies in the
area of STS by organizing seminars, workshops, symposia etc. and through the
publication of relevant proceedings, reports books etc. The objective of the
society also includes the effort at bringing the STS academic studies with
science, technology and policy for development.
iii) To generate interest among the
emerging scholarship in the area of STS through intellectual and other means
of support
iv) The society upholds the academic
culture of free and objective expression as far as possible and is a
non-political organization. The society will consciously avoid any kid of
party-political or religious affiliations detrimental to the aims and
objectives of the society.
v) All the incomes, earnings, movable
or immovable properties of the society shall be solely utilized and applied
towards the promotion of its aims and objects as set forth in the Memorandum
of Association and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred directly
or indirectly by way of dividends, bonus, profits or in any manner whatsoever
to the present or the past members of the society or to any person claiming
though any one or more of the present or the past members. No member of the
society shall have any personal claim on any moveable or immovable properties
of the society or make any profits, whatsoever, by virtue of this membership.
